Cancer is a type of disease that occurs due to the abnormal growth of cells in a particular area of your internal organs. Cancer slowly spread to other parts of the body when not analyzed in the beginning stages. There are more than 100 types of cancer and is classified according to the cell by which a particular cancer is born. The common symptoms of signs of cancer are abnormal bleeding, rapid weight loss, lump, unstoppable coughing, and bowel movements change.

Also, the drugs can identify the molecules which cause specific cancer in the human body. 

Paving the Way: Gleevec 

Gleevec can be used for treating Chronic Myeloid Leukemia, a rare type of cancer caused due to excessive growth of white blood cells, or WBCs. According to researchers, it is also effective for treating GIST, a rare type of gastrointestinal cancer. 
These are just a few therapies that show the advancement in the treatment of cancer. There is still a long way to go, and as the medical science advances, more new techniques are going to be discovered.
